In addition to document reviews, the project engineer also works closely with management in order to ensure the project’s success.

Other duties include:

  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Bridge the boundaries between engineering and project management
  • Leading the technical workers who design engineer and build projects
  • Project Engineers are the same as the Project Manager working in conjunction with one another with joint responsibility
