E&C Engineer

One Tech Engineering is searching for an E &C Engineer for a position located in Mead, Colorado. The E&C Engineer will be overseeing and contributing to large-scale dispatchable projects such as combustion turbines.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have a 9+ years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in dispatchable generation projects (construction and/or engineering design).

E&C Engineer Responsibilities:  
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise with a focus on reviewing project drawings and managing Requests for Information (RFIs) across multiple projects.
  • Evaluate submittals, including drawings, studies, and technical analyses, to ensure alignment with project specifications and requirements.
  • Identify and communicate variances to master specifications for internal engineering review and approval.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to clearly define requirements and resolve technical questions.
  • Support construction activities in the field by addressing electrical engineering questions, clarifying design intent, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
  • Interpret engineering and construction drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and contract requirements.
  • Manage RFIs and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including resolution and documentation in coordination with project teams.
  • Support both planning/review phases and active construction execution, providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements of the E&C Engineer:
  • 9+ years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in dispatchable generation projects (construction and/or engineering design).
  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience working with utilities or design firms on dispatchable generation technologies, particularly large-frame combustion turbines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), RFIs (Requests for Information), and managing contract scope.
  • Knowledge of tools such as ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Teams, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with intent to pursue PE licensure is preferred.
