One Tech Engineering is searching for a Property ax Analyst for a position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Property Tax Analyst will perform property and sales/use tax reporting, analysis, and accounting by leveraging data analytics and technology resources.
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience.
Property Tax Analyst Responsibilities:
- File and remit sales, use, and property tax returns and payments in accordance with all statutory requirements.
- Process a high volume of property tax bills.
- Prepare property tax renditions and supporting workpapers.
- Gather, process, and reconcile data from internal and external sources to support property tax reporting and analytical requirements.
- Reconcile tax bills and general ledger accounts, providing explanations and supporting documentation.
- Apply tax statutes, regulations, and rules to ensure compliance; perform taxability research on existing transactions.
- Assist with sales and use tax audits, including invoice retrieval, data pulls, and taxability support; help negotiate resolution of audit issues as needed.
- Perform accounting and forecasting activities related to property, sales, and use taxes in accordance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Support planning, research, and special projects, and perform additional duties as assigned.
- 4–6 years of experience in tax-related roles.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Economics is highly preferred.
- Experience with high-volume processing.
- Utility, telecom, or railroad industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working in a large corporate or matrixed environment preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience with Avalara, SAP, or Power plan is preferred.
