One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for a position located in St. Louis, Missouri. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field, plus 7 years of experience in electrical systems studies in the electric utility or industrial power distribution industry.
Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.
Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:- Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced electrical engineering techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, and/or technological methods.
- Coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports, or project design assignments.
- Responsible for performing power system studies and system protection settings coordination on various projects (Up to 500-kV voltage level).
- Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate native relay configuration files.
- Conduct design reviews and support quality control.
- Assist the project manager in developing the scope of work and conceptual design for the projects.
- Train, guide, and mentor less experienced team members.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field, plus 7 years of experience in electrical systems studies in the electric utility or industrial power distribution industry.
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer licensure.
- Previous experience in the development of protective relay settings in the Transmission or Distribution industry.
- Prior experience in commonly utilized system modelling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM, etc.)
- Knowledge of protection schemes and philosophies commonly applied at Transmission and Distribution substations.
- Previous experience developing native relay setting files using SEL’s AcSELerator and GE’s Enervista software programs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single lines, three lines, schematics, functional diagrams, etc.
- Prior experience designing calculations, including short circuit calculation, current transformer performance and ratio selection, over-current element coordination, zone-distance element selection and coordination, and relay loadability calculation.
- Ability to perform Grounding, Arc Flash, and other Power system studies is a plus.
