One Tech Engineering is searching for a Benefits Specialist for a position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Benefits Specialist will support the benefits team on various projects, including data analysis, reporting, and benefit census validation.
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 5–7 years of experience in benefits, preferably as a Benefits Specialist, Benefits Analyst, or Benefits Administrator.
Benefits Specialist Responsibilities:- Focus on analytics, process improvement, and ensuring accuracy in benefit records.
- Verify and validate census data to support actuaries and external vendors.
- Cross-train on key processes such as POPR funding.
- Collaborate with external vendors and actuarial consultants for data validation and reporting.
- Perform data pulls and validation using Workday and Excel.
- Attend three weekly team meetings and assist with documenting project notes.
- Support ad hoc requests and provide analytical support for ongoing benefits projects.
- Work closely with team members to prepare reports, manage vendor communications, and ensure timely project deliverables.
- 5–7 years of experience in benefits, preferably as a Benefits Specialist, Benefits Analyst, or Benefits Administrator.
- Experience supporting large employer health plans (5,000+ employees).
- Familiarity with Workday is preferred.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, concatenate, data organization).
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaborative mindset and independence in completing assigned tasks.
- Organizational skills for managing data requests and project priorities.
- Union experience or exposure to collective bargaining agreements is nice to have.
- CEBS certification is nice to have.
