One Tech Engineering is searching for an E&C Engineer for a position located in Denver, Colorado, with site visits to Georgetown, Glenwood Springs, and Durango, Colorado. The E&C Engineer will be supporting the development and execution of hydroelectric projects across Colorado.

 

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have 3+ years of civil engineering experience with 1-2 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).

E&C Engineer Responsibilities:  
  • Provide civil engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on evaluating design drawings and managing submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) across multiple active sites.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality in all technical deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, internal teams, and external consultants to support design coordination, construction planning, and field execution.
  • Assist the Project Manager with upfront project scoping, estimating, and planning activities.
  • Coordinate with design engineering consultants and internal teams (operations, environmental, etc.) to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Manage submittals and RFIs, ensuring technical documentation aligns with project specifications.
  • Review design drawings, studies, and analyses, communicating variances from company standards for internal approval.
  • Provide field support during construction phases, addressing civil engineering questions and clarifying design details.
  • Troubleshoot on-site issues and ensure construction activities comply with design intent and company standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors and lead project meetings to ensure effective communication and progress tracking.
Requirements of the E&C Engineer:
  • 3+ years of civil engineering experience with 1-2 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).
  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited school or strong/commensurate experience.
  • Prior experience working with utilities or design firms on renewable technologies.
  • Knowledge of/familiarity with NCRs, RFIs, and the ability to understand and manage the scope of a contract.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Procore would be nice to have.  
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering license, or Engineering in Training/certification to become a professional engineer is strongly preferred.
